time marches on
Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008 - 10:36 a.m.

J turned 25 yesterday! Man, do I feel old. Well, not really. But damn! Twentyfive!! Time just keeps marching on.
We had planned the day together quite a while back. I was dreading it because of the recent events. I was in a funk for afew days thinking about it and how I would handle it. We actually had a great day together. This is probably the first birthday I have spent a significant amount of time with her since she was 15 years old. Maybe 16. It was nice. We had a good time. We went to a meeting in the morning with "the powers that be". It went pretty good. Went to breakfast. Then I took her to get a little work done. Got myself a spiffy new tattoo. Will post a picture once I get it on the computer. I was going to go a little further with a flower on my ankle. I decided I wasn't up for all that yesterday, but wanted to commemerate her birthday and get a new tattoo. I like it! Don't know what S thinks of it. He is always pretty passive about my tat's. He always says he likes them, but is never overelated, or disappointed. I guess he is just really indifferent. That's ok. I get them for me anyway, not him.
J came over after that and we had cake with the kids. She opened her gifts from them and that was it. It was a very nice day! (Have I said that already? haha) We got along great and she was a pleasure to be around. She really is trying to be a better person. She is a lot different than she used to be. But there is still so much work and struggle ahead. I know that. I'm just happy I was able to spend the day with her!
